2022: culturally grounded reflective practice
The yarning process we embedded in 2022 through our Community of Practice is a powerful step in enacting cultural strengths and methodologies as we work with First Nations’ communities. This work is fluid and continuous, it allows us to respond internally to community needs, changes and self-determination through practicing culturally grounded processes and systems of knowing, being and doing.

BetterEvaluation’s Ethical Protocol
As part of the Project Working Group of Aboriginal consultants, we helped to develop an ethical protocol to assess evaluations that involve or affect First Nations people and communities.
Story of Change – Mad Mob, culturally endorsed and strongly governed
Produced as part of our Action Research Project, this case study centres on Mad Mob, an Aboriginal Corporation based in Hawkesbury, NSW, that aims to educate and promote Aboriginal culture, art, spirituality, health and well-being within the wider community.

On the outskirts of the town of Mingenew in Midwest Western Australia lies a former Aboriginal reserve named Jinjamarba Baba, or Littlewell.

Produced as part of our Action Research Project, this case study centres on the Blue Mountains Aboriginal Culture and Resource Centre (ACRC) that formed in 1994 as a meeting place for the Aboriginal Community, and to promote visibility of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population in the region.
