How we can support you
Who are we?
We are a First Nations-led community development and research organisation with over 20 years of experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across the country.
We believe every First Nations community has the strength, knowledge, and vision to shape its own future. We work exclusively by invitation only - you decide when and how we can support you.
Our role is simple: to walk beside you, offering practical support, skilled volunteers, and resources to turn your goals into reality.
We connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, businesses, organisations, and individuals with skilled volunteers who bring expertise to the table in areas such as:
Business development
IT and website design
Communications and marketing
Strategic planning and governance
Trades and practical skills
And many more skills!
Whether online or face-to-face, our support is tailored to help you achieve your goals.
How does it all work?
Where are we located?
We work across Australia. Our team travel far and wide to personally engage with potential and current community partners.

We offer skilled volunteer support
How do we source volunteers?
We’re lucky to have a group of skilled, committed professionals who volunteer their time to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
All our volunteers go through a thorough screening process, including applications, interviews, checks (police, medical, Working with Children), and an induction. Once they’re ready, they join our volunteer database.
Our Volunteer Coordinators stay in touch with them, offering support and updates along the way, so they’re always ready to work respectfully alongside communities.
What skills do they offer?
Our volunteers bring a wide range of skills to the table - everything from governance to graphic design, small engine mechanics to strategic planning, and more. Some skills are easier to find, while others take a little extra effort to match.
Occasionally, we’ll recruit for specific skills, but rest assured, all volunteers still go through our thorough screening process. Often, the skills they provide are the missing piece your organisation needs to take that next big step.
The list below gives you an idea of what’s available, but if you’re after something specific, reach out to our team - we’re happy to help!
How are volunteers selected for projects?
Our Community Development Officers (CDOs) work closely with you to figure out the skills needed to achieve your goals. From there, they search our volunteer database and put together a shortlist of interested volunteers with the right skills.
We encourage communities to chat with the shortlisted volunteers to find the best fit. Ultimately, you have the final say on which volunteer works with your community.

Tips for successful projects
Regular contact is important: We will regularly get in touch with you as you lead your project with the volunteer.
Good communication is key to a successful project: Positive communication, planning well, and holding regular meetings will help you stay on track as your project grows.
Make sure you have enough time and capacity to work with your volunteer: Don’t hesitate to reach out to your volunteer or Community Development Officer (CDO) if you have questions or need support - they’re there to support you on this journey.
Timeframes aren’t the most important thing: Flexibility and achieving positive results are. Just keep others in the loop if project deadlines need to shift.
Your CDO will be working on a range of projects at any time: It's important that they can stay across developments with your project. Please remember to share project milestones. At the end of a project, we will work with you to evaluate your project's success
