New online volunteer training off to a winning start!

We are thrilled to announce 50+ volunteers have completed the Community First Development online induction course! The course, which covers our frameworks, approach, values as well as the 'ins and outs' of volunteering, is designed to complement our in-person regional inductions, which will be relaunching later this year.

At Community First Development, we understand that when our volunteers are prepared and supported, there are better outcomes for our First Nations community partners. The skills, expertise and generosity our volunteers bring to each placement is crucial to supporting our community partners to achieve their goals, and we are committed to providing volunteers with the support and resources they need to succeed.

We are excited to welcome 24 new volunteers to the organisation, and we are grateful for the 26 established volunteers who completed the induction. By completing this course, our volunteers have gained a deeper understanding of our approach, values, and Community Development framework, as well as important information on the volunteer role, experience, and responsibilities.

‘I enjoyed the online induction program which was well designed and delivered. The program was both encouraging and interesting.’

‘Great content and a very professional delivery.’

‘I thought the course was great! Informative, straight forward and the use of Indigenous art/symbols in diagrams quite captivating. The course certainly refreshed my understanding of CFD. Thanks for the opportunity to participate!’

The online induction course is available for all Community First Development volunteers, both new and established.
