Community First Development have a new office in Darwin, on Larrakia country.
While our former Darwin office closed some years ago due to a significant decrease in government funding, we are grateful to have another opportunity to work with communities in the Top End.
Community First Development CEO, Stephanie Harvey, explains, “We are excited about re-establishing our community development program in the Top End.”
“We are humbled that our donors, everyday families and people like you and me, have recognised the need for sustainable support that respects the need for our community partners to be self-determining in their decision making and goal setting.”
Tania, Senior Community Development Officer, transferred from our Alice Springs office to Darwin mid-last year. Since then, she has been busily helping to re-establish our connections and relationships across the Top End.
Now, with a new office space, co-located at Yilli Rreung Housing, Tania is well-placed to meet community partners face-to-face and continue operations.
She says that Community First Development has always worked towards achieving a positive influence in remote and regional communities.
“We are re-establishing in the Top End with a lot of demand. I believe there is a lot of important work that Community First Development could do in the Northern Territory and so I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be situated in Darwin.”
We are looking forward to the success and achievements of our community partners and engaging with our local volunteers.
