Emma Mulvaney

Senior Community Development Officer

What inspired you to work with Community First Development?

I love Community First Development’s community development model. I love that we work at the invitation of communities and that everything is initiated and driven by them. It’s inspiring to work for an organisation that is committed to continuously reflecting on best practice to support the best possible outcomes for the communities we work with.

What is a recent project you’ve been involved in?

I’ve recently returned from 12 months of maternity leave and have relocated to the Central Coast from Western Australia. I’m really looking forward to working in this region and getting to know the community here.

What is most rewarding about your work as a Community Development Officer?

The amazing people we get to work with, from our volunteers to our community members, I feel very lucky to get to work with people who inspire me everyday

What have you learnt from working with First Nations communities?

The learnings from First Nations communities is what makes this job so fulfilling. I have learnt something new from each and every community I have worked with. I am in awe of the dreams and visions the communities we work with have and how they creatively strive to deliver incredible outcomes for community.
