When Bill Armstrong AO retired in 2019, after 20 years with Community First Development and 13 years as Co-Chair, we knew we were saying farewell to a legend.
Bill's leadership is highly respected in the community development field, both in Australia and internationally. His guidance has been invaluable. Alongside other board members, Bill played a pivotal role in transforming our community development practices a decade ago.
We regard Bill as one of the greatest humanitarians of our time. To honor his profound impact on self-determination and human rights, Community First Development established the Bill Armstrong AO Human Rights Award upon his retirement.
